Marne, Michigan-based Serenity Rehab, at the heart of a fierce and protracted legal battle, has closed and its real estate assets are being offered for sale by Per Wickstrom's TIA Corporation at $6.9 million.

Ottawa County records reveal TIA paid $4,000,000 for the property.

The property hit the market on August 16, listed for sale by Tim Slot at Greenridge Realty

The Serenity facility was the focus of a long legal battle, beginning in 2013, leading to its 2015 opening in Wright Township, with the township ultimately forced to pay $50,000 in damages for causing delays in building the facility.

In addition, Slot has listed another Wickstrom-linked property for sale: the Marne home purchased by Serenity's former Executive Director, Derry Hallmark.

Hallmark, formerly the Director of Marketing at Oklahoma's Narconon Arrowhead, the flagship facility of Scientology's drug rehab network, purchased the home in 2015 for $140,000. Slot has listed the home (featuring a creepy Michigan basement) for sale at $179,900.

Back on March 4, 2015, Amber Howe (a former Best Drug Rehabilitation staffer), appeared at a meeting of the Substance Abuse Oversight Policy Board of Lakeshore Regional Partners in Michigan. Lakeshore Regional Partners is the "public behavioral health plan for people with mental illness, developmental disability, and substance use disorders in Allegan, Kent, Lake, Mason, Muskegon, Oceana and Ottawa counties" in Michigan.

The organization manages the services provided under a contract with the State of Michigan’s Department of Community Health (MDCH) to residents in the region who have Medicaid or are under insured and who are eligible for services as defined by the Michigan Mental Health Code. Lakeshore is one of 10 so-called "Prepaid Inpatient Health Plans" (PIHP) in Michigan.

The official minutes from that meeting indicated Howe was there to pitch the board on sending a letter of approval to LARA (Michigan's Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs) regarding Serenity/Marne's then-pending application.

Howe named Dr. Ted Zunini as the facility's consulting psychiatrist: a man who apparently didn't exist.
