NEVADA CORPORATION CONDUCTING BUSINESS WITHOUT MICHIGAN CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORITY; SCIENTOLOGY FRONT GROUP CREEPS INTO MANISTEE!
When the Manistee Planning Commission voted 5-0 on January 7, 2016 to grant a Special Use Permit to Per Wickstrom's TIA Corporation to use 900 Vine Street as a “location for recovery meetings” and “intensive outpatient services”, I'm betting it never imagined the site would become the new home of the Church of Scientology's education front, Applied Scholastics.
But it has, and it's not the only Wickstrom-related site in Michigan promoting L. Ron Hubbard's Study Tech.
Per Wickstrom's TIA Corporation purchased an 8,200 square foot structure in Mansitee, Michigan on June 29, 2015, and quickly received a State of Michigan license to operate a drug treatment outpatient center under the name Best Drug Rehabilitation #2.
However, the building was recently rebranded as the home of “Living Solutions Centers, Inc.”, a Nevada-based non-profit corporation formed on August 15, 2016.
Although an application for a Certificate of Authority to legally transact business in Michigan as a Foreign Nonprofit Corporation was filed on behalf of Living Solutions by Slot Law Group attorney Nathanael Karnes on January 17, 2017, Michigan has yet to issue the certificate.
LIVING SOLUTIONS CENTERS SOCK PUPPETS
Among those listed as officers of the Nevada nonprofit corporation are Adam Jaenicke and Daniel Naimowicz.
Jaenicke has worked for at least two Wickstrom-controlled corporations, Life Solutions and Choices Recovery.
Naimowicz, a Manistee resident who also goes by “Dan Tyrell”, appears to have taken the most active role in promoting the spread of Applied Scholastics in Michigan and Indiana.
Applied Scholastics is currently advertising in Manistee and Battle Creek newspapers, under the Life Solutions Centers brand.
Applied Scholastics Incorporated is ostensibly a completely separate organization from the Church of Scientology. It is a separately incorporated body with its world headquarters at 7060 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California—as much as my liver is separately incorporated within my abdomen. Its central task is to promote the use of Study Tech to the non-Scientologist world, particularly in schools – public and private alike. Two of its most important programs are the Hollywood Education and Learning Project (HELP), heavily promoted by celebrity Scientologists such as Tom Cruise and John Travolta, and the World Literacy Crusade.
This is a reading program headquartered in Compton, California that utilizes Study Tech. Long-time Scientologist, the late Isaac Hayes, was the celebrity spokesperson, and Baptist minister Alfreddie Johnson is the founder and putative CEO.
Although its putative goal is to teach people to read, in practice this is just another promotional angle for Study Tech and a way of generating positive publicity for Scientology.
SPECIAL USE PERMIT VIOLATIONS?
As a condition of the Special Use Permit, Per Wickstrom's TIA Corporation was required to legally combine the two properties (900 Vine Street, a parking lot and 183 9th Street, the building) into the 900 Vine Street address.
However, you'll note that Living Solutions Centers is using the 183 9th Street address in Manistee.
As Best Drug Rehabilitation #2 used 900 Vine Street as its address, it could mean that TIA Corporation is in violation of the Special Use Permit.
COMING TO A TOWN NEAR YOU!
If you think this thing stops at the Manistee or Battle Creek borders, think again.
Naimowicz/Tyrell has already shared expansion plans (Manistee, Battle Creek, Harrison, Grand Rapids, South Bend)...on his Facebook page.
