The event, billed as “A Conversation With Dean Strang”, reminded me of my own “conversation” with Strang — a bizarre email exchange about a claim made by convicted tax cheat Steven Ingersoll.
Through a series of emails back in July, I sought to confirm an assertion regarding Strang made by Ingersoll in a January 8, 2016 email to Bruce Harger, former Lake Superior State University Charter Office head.
A series of “loan solicitation” emails were sent by Habermehl to a business associate on behalf of his “friend and colleague” Steven Ingersoll beginning in November 2014, continuing past Ingersoll’s March 10, 2015 conviction.)

Wait, what?
Abuse of power?
Has this guy been illegally imprisoned?
Denied the right to legal counsel?
Deprived from earning money?
Subject of a warrantless wiretapping?
Tortured or kidnapped?
No to all of the above.
However, I had to check it out so I contacted Strang, sending a screen grab of Ingersoll's claim — and received what's known (post-Watergate) as a “non-denial denial”. A non-denial denial is a statement that, at first hearing, seems a direct, clear-cut unambiguous denial of some accusation, but on careful parsing turns out not to be a denial after all.
Although I revealed the results in a July 19, 2016 post on this blog, I've never published my email exchange with Strang...until now! (I've redacted Strang's email address; click on the images to enlarge. Of particular interest is Strang's mansplaining in his initial response: the assertion that I'm somehow 'misreading the email for whatever reason'.)
