Now about the company running the sale, Gaylord-based Estate Sales & Beyond of Northern MI.
I guess I've found its real “Beyond”: Brian Ackerman, co-owner of the business, was on-site at the Perry House Friday, May 13.
Ackerman, whose trial is scheduled to begin July 27, was arrested May 4, 2015. He was charged with two counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct, three counts of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct as well as one count of furnishing alcohol to a minor.
According contemporaneous reporting, Michigan State Police began its investigation in August of 2014 when a family member contacted the police about Ackerman.
The incident happened at a home in Bagley Township where Ackerman allegedly assaulted the 13-year-old and gave the victim alcohol.
Ackerman turned himself in on May 4, 2015, and was charged with two counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct, three counts of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct as well as one count of furnishing alcohol to a minor.
Ackerman was released on a $50,000 personal recognize bond, and is currently awaiting trial.
So, you might ask, wasn't there anyone else available to conduct this sale?
