-Steven Ingersoll Guilty On Three Counts
-Roy Bradley Guilty: Conspiracy to defraud the United States
-Gayle Ingersoll, Tammy Bradley acquitted
The jury found Ingersoll guilty of two counts of attempting to evade or defeat tax and one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States. The jury exonerated him of three counts of fraud by wire, radio, or television.
Each of the three counts carries a maximum sentence of 5 years and a fine of up to $250,000. If Ingersoll had been convicted of the wire fraud counts, he could have faced up to 30 years in federal prison.
The jury found that Bradley "fail(ed) to remove asbestos before beginning to demolish and renovate the building, fail(ed) to adequately wet and keep wet asbestos until proper disposal, fail(ed) to ensure that a person trained in the proper procedures for handling asbestos was on-site when asbestos was disturbed, and fail(ed) to ensure that asbestos-containing waste was disposed of properly," according to U.S. Attorney Barbara L. McQuade.
Ludington is scheduled to sentence Bradley on those convictions at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 12.
The jury found Gayle R. Ingersoll—Steven Ingersoll's brother—not guilty of conspiracy to defraud the United States and fraud by wire, radio, or television. They found Bradley's wife, Tammy S. Bradley, not guilty of fraud by wire, radio, or television.
The judge is to sentence Bradley and Ingersoll at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16.
Both Bradley and Ingersoll remain free on bond.
